SOME OF THE STRANGEST HAIR GROWTH TIPS FROM BEAUTY INFLUENCERS

Have you ever longed for longer, healthier hair?
Or had a really bad haircut, and wished your hair would grow out faster so you could fix it?
Calgary beauty salon solutions will always offer treatments to help you get longer, stronger hair you’ve been dreaming of, but if you prefer a DIY approach, well, there are some strange ones out there.
Keep reading for some of the weirdest tips to help hair growth.
EXTENSIONS ARE ALWAYS AN OPTION
If you have a special event coming up, and you want to ensure you have long, flowing locks for it – extensions are your best bet to get the results you want.
No waiting to see if a treatment will work, no guessing games.
But if you’d prefer to try to grow your hair naturally, and want some ideas on how to do it faster, here are some, um, interesting things you could try.
Warning
Please note that Lavoom Salon Calgary is not recommending any of the points you read below, and if you try any, you do so at your own risk. Do your own research to discover the potential risks and benefits of these.
That said, most of these are done using basic household products, most of which you already likely have in your cupboard.
1. The Inversion Method
This method involves literally hanging your head upside down after massaging a warm oil into the scalp.
The claim is that positioning your head upside down stimulates blood flow to the head and scalp, which in turn stimulates hair follicle growth.
It should be noted this is not recommended for people who are pregnant, have heart problems, high or low blood pressure, during menstruation, for people who are prone to headaches, or after you’ve had a drink or two.
2. Wearing A Shower Cap To Bed
This trick is best used in combination with your favourite hair treatment mask or deep conditioner.
By wearing a shower cap, you trap heat which allows for the product to penetrate deeper into the hair shaft.
Saturate your hair with your treatment product of choice, and massage it into your scalp, and then twist your hair into a bun and put on your shower cap.
If you want to go the extra mile with this one, you can get a thermal hair cap that can be heated in the microwave, and wear it over top of your shower cap.

3. Mix Peanut Butter In Your Hair
The claim here is the protein and vitamin E found in peanut butter can help keep your hair long and strong.
This one is for people with dry damaged hair, to help put some life back into it.
Heat up a small amount of peanut butter, apply over your hair, and put on a shower cap and leave for 10 to 20 minutes.
Unlike many of the other tricks on this list that claim to stimulate hair growth, this one is mainly to help keep the hair you already have strong.
4. Use Vicks VapoRub
It has been suggested that massaging this menthol-scented cream into your scalp can help to stimulate hair follicles and lead to growth.
One You-Tuber has claimed this method worked a little too well for her, causing super-fast growth, which then required her to use other hair treatments more often than she normally does, so proceed with caution.
5. Use Monistat
Monistat.
Yes, THAT Monistat, the yeast infection treatment.
Some claim the cream’s active ingredient, Miconazole nitrate stimulates hair follicles and promotes faster hair growth.
Mix the cream with olive oil, and apply before bed.
6. Get A Scalp Massage
Massage your scalp with your fingertips to promote circulation and stimulate hair growth.
Although this can be done on your own, it can be super relaxing to visit a Calgary scalp massage specialist, lie back and let someone else help take the stress away.
Scalp massage can also help with dry skin, dandruff and can work to strengthen hair follicles.
7. Cayenne Pepper
Mix cayenne pepper with oil and apply to your scalp – leave it on for at least three hours, but overnight for best results.
The “tingling” sensation you feel is said to stimulate your hair follicles and promote hair growth.
Note that this method is not recommended for those with sensitive skin.
8. Use Baking Soda Instead Of Shampoo
Using baking soda instead of shampoo can help remove the build-up of beauty products, but also has antibacterial properties.
Follow-up with a rinse made with apple cider vinegar.
Some people claim making a paste with baking soda and washing your hair with it promotes hair growth, however in some people, this method can have the opposite effect and result in hair loss, so be careful with this one.
